Operations

Executive Director of Operations: Mike Kramer

The Operations Summer Help Program is open to current district employees interested in supporting various shops and departments during the summer. Assignments may include deep cleaning, painting, groundskeeping, and assisting technicians.

The program is anticipated to run from approximately May 22, 2026, through July 30, 2026. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Compensation will be paid at your regular hourly rate.

This application form collects required information, including employee status, contact details, current work site, and availability. Applicants will also be asked to indicate any existing summer work commitments, CDL status, etc. Additionally, you will rank your preferred shops or departments, with optional area assignment preferences for Custodial and Grounds support where applicable.

While every effort will be made to accommodate preferences, placement in specific roles or areas is not guaranteed. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact Janice Hernandez at (480) 472-6121 or at jmhernandez@mpsaz.org

If you are interested in participating, please complete and submit this application form using your MPS email account: https://forms.gle/BeLSVkbB9QjhsFKp8

Note that the hourly rate for summer work is capped at $25/hr, per Meet and Confer recommendation D: Effective January 1, 2026, classified employees who are working outside of their regular positions will be compensated at their standard hourly rate, as long as it does not exceed the current certified non-instructional hourly rate of $25.00 per hour. Classified employees whose regular positions are assigned an extended work calendar will continue to receive compensation at their established hourly rate.
